Humans of Prodigal: Katie Gloeckner

Katie Gloeckner is an Account Executive at Prodigal, responsible for generating new business and supporting customers throughout the sales, implementation, and adoption processes.

She graduated from the University of Rhode Island where she was a Division 1 athlete and graduated with a major in political science and a minor in English.

After working as a Wealth Management Client Associate for Merrill Lynch, Katie joined Prodigal as an Sales Development Representative and hustled her way up to AE!

Where do you live?

In Connecticut, outside New York City. I grew up here and love having my family close by.

Why Prodigal?

I loved a lot about my first job, but I wanted something a little more high-speed. When I found Prodigal, I thought, “This is perfect - this is going to challenge me, I’m going to learn something every day.”

It’s funny - I was looking at so many different companies but with Prodigal, I could see right away how useful the products would be and how they could make an impact right away. At Merrill Lynch, I did a lot of work with compliance and customer relationships, so I knew the benefit of Prodigal’s solutions and how I could talk about them from a different perspective.

When I’m not working, you can find me…

Hiking with the dogs (we have five), hanging out with my sister and my nephew - he’s 3.5 and he is so fun, or at the gym.

I grew up on the water, boating, and we spend so much time there every summer - we go waterskiing, we go tubing, I just love being on the water.

What would your co-workers be surprised to know about you?

I’m really sentimental about pictures and memories. I love going through my grandparents’ photo albums and memorabilia, seeing the pictures and the handwriting.

So I started scrapbooking because in the future I would love for my future kids or my future grandkids to be able to go through things like I do.

What’s your favorite Prodigal value?

We Pursue Excellence and We Are Curiously Optimistic.

As I said earlier, the reason I chose Prodigal was because I knew that this was going to push me out of my comfort zone and I was going to learn something new every day, which is one of the most important things in your job, your career, and on a personal level too.

And having that curious optimism in terms of asking, “Why?” Asking the questions that need to be asked in order for you to move forward is really important. That way we can all get better and we can all also help each other learn something new. Always trying to think of ways to get better every day so you can do the best for your prospects and customers but also for Prodigal as a company.
